Eastport Yacht Club Team Racing Team
Eastport Yacht Club has organized a Team Race Team to help promote team racing at the yacht club, on the Chesapeake Bay, and as an exciting discipline in the sport of sailing. We are about team racing, teaching team racing, and growing the sport. The team formed in 2014 and has been supported by the club to further this discipline. We have held local practices and competed locally and nationally in team race regattas. We look forward to another exciting year in 2018.
We are a team that builds support through volunteering and racing!
Please join the team and take advantage of the experience and comradere by participating in practice, local races, or regional races.
Hinman Masters
Through successful participation in the Hinman Masters, team race training sessions, and group meet ups the EYC team has grown the roster of members and participants. We have attracted new and younger members to participate in our team. We have attracted members who are professional sailors, world champion sailors, national and local racers, and members new to team racing. We have a strong core team that is bolstered by new team members ever year.
J-22 Access
he team racing team also spearheaded the use of three J22's at the club for team racing and recreational sailing.
Regatta invites
We have been invited to participate at Seawanhaka YC in NY, at a regatta in Corpus Christi and one in Marblehead, MA along with local scrimmages and team races. Our success at the Hinman directly correlates to these invites as EYC is now known as a club that supports and is good at team racing.
